How Jennifer Aniston’s LolaVie brand grew sales 40% with CTV ads

The DTC beauty category is crowded. To break through, Jennifer Aniston’s brand LolaVie, worked with Roku Ads Manager to easily set up, test, and optimize CTV ad creatives. The campaign helped drive a big lift in sales and customer growth, helping LolaVie break through in the crowded beauty category.

🔍 X now shows if your posts are shadowbanned LINK
  • X has added a transparency tool that lets users check whether ranking systems have applied labels to their accounts or posts, giving a clearer signal when their reach has been reduced.
  • The tool sits inside an "Under the Hood" page in the app's settings, where users who posted 10 or more times in the past month can download aggregate stats as a JSON file covering the last calendar month.
  • Alongside the tool, X is putting the source code for its For You timeline on GitHub under the Apache v2 license, including model configuration, filters, and ranking parameters, making its codebase 10 to 15 times larger than before.
🛒 69% of shoppers will let AI buy for them LINK
  • A survey of more than 2,000 U.S. consumers by marketing agency Croud found that 69% of Americans are open to letting artificial intelligence make purchases for them, especially routine buys like groceries.
  • The study, built with research firm ImpactSense, found that 73% of AI users research products through large language models before picking a brand, while 39% check those recommendations against four or more sources before buying.
  • More than one-third of consumers who validate AI recommendations turn to YouTube, and fashion shoppers using AI-assisted checkout spent about 56% more than non-users, according to the study.
🏆 61% can't name a brand using AI well LINK
  • A survey by WordPress VIP found that 61% of consumers can't name a single brand they think uses AI well in its messaging, with 16% saying no brand does it well at all.
  • The "Future of the Web 2026" report, based on answers from more than 2,000 enterprise decision-makers and consumers, found that 60% see AI in a brand's messaging as a turnoff rather than a feature.
  • The report also found people reach bot fatigue after 40 minutes, and Salesforce moved 2,000 marketers onto WordPress VIP, while Capgemini, Meta, and Pew Research Center run on the platform too.
🎯 Google Ads is dropping your language targeting in September LINK
  • Starting in late September, Google Ads will remove campaign-level language targeting from Search and AI Max for Search campaigns, handing language matching over to its automated systems instead of letting advertisers pick which languages to target.
  • Google will decide which ads to serve based on the ad's language plus signals about what a user understands, such as the search term language and user settings, so someone with a Spanish browser who searches in English could see ads in either language.
  • Performance Max keeps advertiser-selected language settings for YouTube, Display, Discover and Gmail, but its Search ads lose those settings, and developers must stop using language criteria in the Google Ads API or trigger an OPERATION_NOT_PERMITTED_FOR_CONTEXT error.
🕷️ Microsoft Clarity shows which AI crawlers take from you LINK
  • Microsoft Clarity has added a metric called AI Scrape-to-Referral insights, which shows site operators how much each AI bot scrapes from their content compared to the referral traffic that bot sends back in return.
  • The new Scrape-to-Referral Ratio card sits in the Bot Analytics report and includes an operator-level breakdown, a ranked list showing which AI sources send visits and which have high scrape activity with limited referral return.
  • Users can click from a referral source straight into the Recordings tab with filters applied, watching whether AI-referred visitors scroll, engage, and complete actions like purchases, sign-ups, or form fills, or leave quickly.
