🐾 He fired his marketing team for AI
LINK
|
- Dutch cofounder Joe Spector dropped the veterinary telehealth company's outside marketing agency and replaced it with an in-house team that leans heavily on AI tools to make ads and commercials.
- The old agency charged about $50,000 a month for five pieces of creative material, while the new team produces around 50 pieces monthly, a 10x jump that would cost roughly half a million dollars through an agency.
- Since the team started, Dutch cut its customer acquisition cost by 20% between January and April 2026, grew its audience 20% month over month, and raised its Meta ad spend from 5% to about a quarter.

🔍 AI Overviews now shape half your search traffic
LINK
|
- Google's AI Overviews now appear in 43% of searches, up from 15% a year ago, according to a new report from market intelligence firm Similarweb that tracks how web users find information.
- Over the same period, visits to Google's more conversational AI Mode grew from 126 million in June 2025 to 279 million by May 2026, while the average length of Google searches also rose.
- Publishers are losing referral traffic as AI citations often don't lead to clicks, though the number of AI responses that include a citation has risen more than fivefold during the past year.

🔨 Lowe's is turning creators into product designers
LINK
|
- Lowe's has launched a program called "Lowe's Creator: Into the Blue" that lets creators submit their own product ideas for design and possible sale in stores, going beyond just promoting existing items.
- Hundreds of applications have come in since Lowe's announced the program at Cannes in June, and its Creator Network is nearing 30,000 members, with the application window closing September 1.
- Lowe's marketing team will score submissions using a rubric led by two criteria, social virality potential and accessible price point, since low-cost items tend to become social impulse buys more often than large renovation products.

🛍️ Facebook Marketplace just became a seller ad channel
LINK
|
- Meta has launched Seller, a dedicated app for Facebook Marketplace sellers to manage listings, reach buyers, and grow their business, available now on the App Store for people 18 and older in the United States.
- Seller syncs with Facebook Marketplace, so existing listings, messages, and selling history carry over, while anything created in the app automatically appears on Marketplace, where 430 million items are listed each month globally.
- The app includes Meta AI that fills in listing details from photos, a bulk listing feature, a unified inbox threaded by item, and performance insights showing views, clicks, message threads, and sold listings.

🤖 AI-generated experts are polluting your PR pitches
LINK
|
- The journalist response platform Qwoted has banned hundreds of PR agencies, executives and so-called experts who either do not appear to exist, write with AI, or comment on topics far outside their real areas of knowledge.
- Fake experts are mostly used as an SEO tactic, driving links from trusted news sites to pages that want better Google search visibility, with Qwoted handling over 15 violations and banning 50 clients each day.
- Qwoted uses a human vetting team plus tools like AI detector Pangram to flag accounts, but limited an AI-detection tool on the pitching side after bad actors kept tweaking content until it scored 100% human.
