🤖 Meta's AI ad tools are misrepresenting your brand
LINK
|
- Meta's AI ad tools are altering brands' campaigns without permission, producing distorted images, garbled text, and changed products, while the company tells advertisers that reviewing these outputs is their own responsibility.
- Eight advertisers described routine problems, including a pajama dress swapped for a shirt and pants, men added to a women's networking ad, and REI's Instagram bike shown with two handlebars.
- Advertisers say a bug keeps switching AI features on by default, forcing agencies running hundreds of ads to double-check each campaign, though Meta's business still pulled in around $196 billion in revenue last year.

🔁 X just gave your mutuals a reach boost
LINK
|
- X updated its algorithm to show users more posts from their mutuals, meaning the people they follow who follow them back, after this data was found missing from the code.
- Nikita Bier, X's head of product, said the missing data had made friends appear less often in replies, turning reply sections into a battleground filled with people users don't recognize.
- The change aims to help clusters form around interests more easily, a fix many people had asked for, and marks a shift back toward explicit follow choices over AI recommendations.
|
🎙️ AI voiceovers now match human voice actors
LINK
|
- New research commissioned by advertising platform Azerion found that AI-generated voices work at least as well as human voiceovers in audio ads, with AI regional accents matched to a listener's location performing even more strongly.
- Brand uplift reached 3% for both AI and human voices, but 33% of people who heard AI regional voices matched to their area would recommend the brand, against 10% for the neutral human version.
- Nearly two fifths of listeners (37%) believed an AI-voiced ad was human, while only 29% correctly spotted the AI, and adding Dynamic Creative Optimisation raised average brand uplift by 6% across all respondents.

💄 Influencers now shape how young women shop wellness
LINK
|
- A majority of young women in the United States now get health and wellness information from social media influencers, with 57% of women ages 18 to 29 saying they do so, according to a fall 2025 Pew Research Center survey.
- Among those who get this information from influencers, 51% of young women often hear about beauty and appearance, compared with 18% of young men, and young women are roughly twice as likely to often see content about alternative medicine.
- About half of young women (51%) say wanting to make a change in their health or lifestyle is a major reason for following these influencers, compared with 37% of young men, based on surveys of over 5,000 adults each.
|
🔍 YouTube search now finds videos by situation
LINK
|
- YouTube is rolling out an AI-powered search experience in the US that lets people describe a situation, idea, or activity in conversational language instead of typing exact keywords to find relevant videos.
- The feature changes the basic input of search by reading the intent behind a described need, then connecting it to videos that fit, rather than requiring users to guess the right query.
- For creators and brands, titles, thumbnails, descriptions, chapters, and transcripts may matter more, because content that clearly answers a real-world scenario gets surfaced over vague brand story videos.
