🤖 ChatGPT referrals to your site jumped 303% in a year
LINK
|
- ChatGPT referral visits to the business-to-business websites tracked by Demandbase grew 303% over one year, rising from about 645,000 in June 2025 to 2.6 million in June 2026, the account-based marketing vendor reported on August 12, 2026.
- Rival assistants moved differently over the same stretch, with Perplexity referrals falling while Gemini and Claude stayed flat, though Demandbase did not publish absolute volumes, percentages, or shares for any of those three platforms.
- The gain was not steady, jumping sharply in May 2026 when referral traffic more than doubled against prior months, but Demandbase gave no cause and did not tie the jump to any product change at OpenAI.

🗺️ Apple Maps is now an ad channel for you
LINK
|
- Apple Maps is about to become a paid advertising channel in the US and Canada, and starting today businesses can book their own ads before the spots go live for users.
- Ads will show up in two spots: Suggested Places on the search screen before people search, and within search results afterward when they match what someone looks for.
- Apple is running a limited-time promotion for eligible businesses that book Maps ads with a credit card payment by October 11, 2026, with full booking details posted on its website.

📱 Apple must fix its tracking prompts, boosting your ad targeting
LINK
|
- Apple has agreed to change how its App Tracking Transparency framework works in Germany, following binding commitments secured by the country's antitrust regulator, the Bundeskartellamt, which should improve conditions for personalised ad targeting.
- Apple will align the consent prompts for its own services with those shown by third-party apps, and will give app publishers more room within the prompt to explain why personalised advertising matters for their business.
- App publishers will also be allowed to combine Apple's mandated consent prompt with other consent requests required under data protection law, though the rules apply only in Germany, five years after ATT first took effect.

🔗 Your LinkedIn profile beats your company page in AI search
LINK
|
- Research from Meltwater and LinkedIn found that individual member profiles are cited far more often than company pages when AI tools generate answers to B2B questions.
- After studying 9.5 million AI citations across B2B categories and major AI platforms, the study found LinkedIn is one of the top sources cited, with 75% of its citations coming from member profiles and 25% from company pages.
- Every top-cited article used bullets or numbered lists, 92% had clear structure with H2/3 tags, and 67% included statistics, while how-to guides, comparison pieces and ranked lists outperformed opinion-led thought leadership.

📊 Google Analytics now lets you set custom conversion windows
LINK
|
- Google Analytics now lets advertisers set their own custom lookback windows for conversion attribution, replacing the fixed and preset options that previously limited how sales cycles could be matched to their campaigns.
- Engaged-view conversions can now use any value from 1 to 30 days, up from the old fixed 3-day window, while click-through conversions accept any value from 1 to 90 days instead of six preset choices.
- The new settings appear in Google Analytics under Advertising, Conversion management, then Settings, and also in the linked Google Ads conversion management interface, giving advertisers finer control over how conversions are credited.
